The city of Burnaby is next to Vancouver.
You will love living up on Burnaby Mountain - there is community feel, quiet yet friendly, next to nature with beautiful views.
45 minute transit to downtown Vancouver by direct bus - bus loop is 2 min walk away.
10 minute bus ride to the SkyTrain line taking you to neighbouring communities Coquitlam, Port Moody, New Westminster and Surrey.
Perfect for SFU Simon Fraser University students - around the corner start your 2 min walk.
FIC Fraser International College - 8 to 10 min walk or take the free campus community shuttle bus, frequency is very 30 min starting 8 am to 1030 pm M-F.
There are walking trails to enjoy and public basketball courts to toss the ball around.
You'll enjoy the handful of restaurants close by including Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, A&W, donair, bubble tea & Vietnamese pho soup. Nester's Grocery is also a 2 min walk away,
Our home has high ceilings with natural sunlight coming into every room. On sunny days - you may want to sit on the patio and hyper focus on your studies, or take a break to people/pet watch =)
Our family has hosted since 2011, and have sincerely enjoyed sharing our Canadian culture with our students.
We have visited Japan, Mexico, France, England, the Philippines and hope to add many more countries.
We host parents are in our 40s, busy raising our kids. Twice a week let us know if you'd like join us for a walk or attempt to play basketball or badminton . Our skills are questionable but we can have fun. We welcome our home to students who understand the importance of considerate living able to look after their area all in a tidy clean manner.
Just a little note - Smokers are welcome to apply =) Please know smoking is ONLY permitted OUTSIDE - 6 metres from any entrances and must comply with bylaws.
To help with scheduling, when you inquire - please indicate whether you have a preference for ONLY the same gender otherwise pls expect it will be co-ed living.
